System Shock 2: The Many Mutant

When playing System Shock 2, you can't just whip out a power at will - you have to equip the Psi-Amp first. You can bind individual powers or tiers of powers to keys for easy access. However, navigating the game's interface is awkward, and shooting, dodging, and even using certain abilities can be frustratingly cumbersome.

One thing to keep in mind about System Shock 2 is that it makes everything as challenging as possible. Enemies are sneaky, hidey guys who require strategy and stealth to defeat. None of them are straightforward combat enemies, except perhaps for the PSI guy - but even he's not a traditional combatant. New players might want to start on Normal difficulty and play as the PSI guy to gain access to their Psi points more easily.

As a PSI guy, you can use your powers to heal quickly and exploit weaknesses in enemy defenses. For example, Cryokinesis is an extremely useful ability for taking out cameras and other non-essential targets. However, unlocking new powers is not easy - each power requires a significant investment of stat points, which can be difficult to come by.

To make matters worse, the Navy guy has to buy the ability to use PSI powers in addition to their own set of skills. This means that you'll have to wait even longer to access higher-level abilities. And if you want to use the ammo you're finding, you'll need to spend stat points on gun-based abilities - a daunting task.

The best tricks and abilities in System Shock 2 are incredibly expensive in terms of stat points, so it's a good idea to focus on building up your character before trying to unlock new powers. PSI points don't recharge, either, making them another finite resource that must be managed carefully.

Despite these challenges, there's not a huge difference between playing as the PSI guy and the Navy guy on Normal difficulty - both characters have their own strengths and weaknesses. With careful planning and strategy, you can overcome the awkward interface and emerge victorious in this challenging game.
